CoolAer’s Precision Controlled Air Conditioners with DX Gas System (CRACs) are designed for easy installation in a variety of arrangements – including raised floor, lowered ceilings, and air duct systems – and offer cooling capacities that range from 7-120kW.

Key features of a Precision Controlled Air Conditioners with DX Gas System include monitoring and maintaining the condition of a computer room or data center’s environment, including air distribution, pressure, and humidity. CRACs work on the same principle as a home air conditioner – a condenser pulls heat from a coolant, which is then circulated to a fan that cools the desired area – except they are dedicated to a computer room or data center, and designed to meet their specific needs.

In the past, to overcome insufficiencies in design, data centers were overcooled to ensure that all parts of the system were kept at a safe operating temperature. It was better to pay for more cold air than was needed, than to risk any part of the system overheating.

Today, advances both in the science of cooling and computer modeling have enabled data center cooling systems to achieve more uniform temperatures throughout the data center, while also improving efficiencies.
